Wheels On Cherokee Street

I spent some time on Cherokee Street this weekend. I went there to look at the buildings, but found the vehicles I saw more interesting.

This looked like some fun waiting to happen. I wonder where he was going?

Looks like these folks have been on the road for a while.

The bicycles looked quite new.
And, speaking of bicycles.....

Why would one do that to a bicycle?

Happily, the Yamaha looked to be well taken care of and in regular use.

  1. Beautiful Ford! I can see why your eye wandered. And I can only think of the bicycle modifications as a way of helping reduce the possibility of theft. I don't think many people would attempt to ride that.

    1. Lori,
What a clever thought: The mods being an anti-theft strategy. Nice.

Could you make out the old motorcycles in the back of the Ford? Don't know what kind they were, but they did look vintage.

Thanks for comment. Gave me a smile.

    2. I only had eyes for the truck and the racers on the trailer. ;). But since you made me look...I wonder what he was doing with all of that old hardware on display?

I'll see if I can find the crazy bicycle here that had ore weight in mirrors than anything else.

  2. You really did see some interesting modes of transportation.

The bicycle mod is odd. I've only seen one that height before and it was here in Corvallis. We have Da Vinci Days where all kinds of interesting man powered contraptions come out to play so I wasn't too surprised though. We have one gentleman who rides a unicycle everywhere while bouncing basketballs. He's quite talented.

I used to have an old truck, I can't even remember what it was but I wished I had it back. It was a '63 Ford Apache 1/2 short box with the spare wheel bolted to the side of the box, with wood rails, 3 sp 6 cyl, hurst shifter. I traded computer equipment for it
