I Still Think The Mirrors Are Ugly

Let there be warmth.

Isabelle now has heated grips.

But what about the wind?

Isabelle's new handguards should help.

New handguards, heated grips, and more lights begs the question: What's next?

I still think the mirrors are ugly, but I can live with them for now. I think some "Can you see me now?" TLC for Isabelle's tush is called for. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.

  1. Grips and hand guards, nice! I was thinking about that too, for the Vespa but haven't followed through with it just yet.

    1. I couldn't believe the difference putting heated grips made on the Symba. Wow! These guards really do seem to block the wind nicely as well. I would have liked to have had this setup when I rode to Ft. Davidson. My fingers got a little chilly in the morning and at the end of the ride.

    1. Deb,
Mike got them for me. I saw them on the Motorcycle Superstore site. I doubt these would fit on you scooter, but there are lots of handguards out there. They do help cut down the wind. The installation on the Kymco was quite involved. He had to cut plastic and modify the bars. I think they turned out great.

  4. The mirrors seem to go with the hand guards in that last shot. Balances out the profile like and x-wing fighter from Star Wars.

    1. Brandy,
I don't like the gray panels on the mirrors, but you are right the handguards do make the mirrors look better.

  5. You're gonna love heated grips and hand guards. Like wrapping your hands around a hot mug of coffee, but getting to ride at the same time!

    1. Kari,
I have heated grips on the Symba and love them. It made such a difference when riding when it gets cold. And, with the faster speeds Isabelle can go, I knew the first thing was heated grips. I, also, have handguards on the Symba and they help, but this are much more impressive.

  6. I also think that the mirrors give it a x-wing look. What would you replace them with?

    1. Richard,
I want something wider. I didn't like the gray panel on the back of the mirror. I'd thought about painting the gray area black and finding a way to extent the mirrors wider. We used some old open end wrenches to extent the mirrors on the Symba. With the handguards the gray doesn't look so bad, it may even grow on me. Still, I would like to see more of what's behind me and less of me in my mirrors.

    1. Lori,
One of the things I don't like about the looks of many scooters is how the rear looks like the back of a boat. I really like the shape of Isabelle's tush. Damn right, I think of it often LOL.
