Early Dismissal

Sometimes before a three day weekend the Court declares an early dismissal. Today was such a day. It allowed me to take the long way home.

It was a typical here and there urban ride.

Lots of side streets and parks.

It was an easy ride. Traffic was light. Everyone behaved. It was simply delicious.

The morning ride? It, too, was good, but it definitely had a different flavor. I wrote about it over in my other blog: Did He Ride Today?.

Whether you are facing a three day weekend or a regular same old, same old weekend, I hope it turns out to be a special one for you.

  1. It was nice that the court let you off early today. Our courts had a state mandated furlough day so I had the day off. The attorney I work for usually takes the same days off the court does which is nice.

Have a great 3 day weekend. Hope you and the misses have something fun planned.

    1. Brandy,
We're hoping to rest up, but I suspect there will be some hiking, riding, and perhaps some land paddling involved.

      Thanks for stopping by,

    1. Thank you, Sonja. It is most welcome. It will be good to rest up. The new job is wonderful, but has an intensity the old one didn't. I'm adjusting.

  4. Sometimes, un-planned rides are the best. You approach them with a fresh mind and no expectations. Great fun, especially in what should be work time.

    1. Gary,
I agree whole-heartedly bout un-planned rides...and yes, an unexpected early dismissal makes it even better.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  5. Dear Keith:

It must be great to have a bike that is so light that maneuvering it around the garage, parking, and in close quarters becomes as easy as damn it. I looked at your pictures this morning and thought, "This guy doesn't have to worry about dropping 800 pounds of steel every time he wants to grab a photo." Have a great weekend.

    Fondest regards,

    1. Jack,
It is wonderful to have a bike that is so easy. This is one thing I don't want to lose. This flexibility is at the core of small cc riding. I don't want to give this up. I would like to be able to go farther faster, but I'm committed to maintaining as much of this flexibility as possible.

You have a great weekend as well. It is great to hear from you!
