Back in September Heather decided to participate in an photography event. It is called Dart St. Louis. This is from their website:
DART St. Louis is a participatory photography challenge
that started with one basic premise - that beauty can be found
anywhere by those who seek it. In September 2012 over 375 creative St
Louisans threw darts at a huge map of St Louis City. Over the following
month, participants visited the area where their dart landed and made a
photograph. The resulting collection of photographs show a snapshot of
St. Louis as it is today, one random block at a time.
When Heather threw her dart it landed closest to the intersection of Grand and Union in Forest Park. This explains why she and I have spent a bunch of time there of late.
The photos have finally been posted. (Click here to view the photos)

Enjoy.
What a great project. I would like such thing for Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteSonja,
DeleteWhen she told me about it, I thought, "Wow, what a wonderful idea." And, I still think it is.

What an awesome project! Please tell Heather her photographs are absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeleteDar,
DeleteI not only told her, but forwarded your comment to her. Maybe if she hears it often enough she'll believe it. She can be a wee bit self-critical. Oh well.

Heather:
ReplyDeleteYou have a very good photographic eye. That is a very nice project. As Sonja said, we should have something like that here.
We have a project which showcases a low income area of Vancouver, the Downtown East-Side. Link here:

bob,
DeleteI made sure Heather got your message. Isn't the Dart idea wonderful?

Such a neat idea. And all those cool photographs too.
ReplyDeletePlease let Heather know her pictures are beautiful, but I am sure you've told her that before.
Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I've told her, but she says I'm demented and can't be trusted :-) Oh well. Maybe if she hears it enough from others besides me she'll get it. One can hope. Thanks for being one of those voices.

ReplyDeleteI showed her your comment. She did smile.

What a great idea. The organisers are right, you can see beauty almost everywhere if you look hard enough. Heather's pictures prove that.
