A blog friend, Trobairitz put out a challenge. (click here to go to her blog). Her challenge? To take a photo of oneself while sitting at ones computer.
I don't have web-cam, iPhone, and decided this wasn't the time to experiment with the timer on my camera. But I did have a co-worker willing to take a photo of me sitting at my desk at work.
Not very creative, but sometimes one can only do the best one can do.
Hi Keith, good to see you. You look kinda happy... is it what work does to you, or are you just looking forwar to the ride home ;-)
ReplyDeleteActually, Sonja, I have enjoyed my work at the courts, but I must confess she wouldn't take the damn picture until she got a smile she was happy with...and, since she is my immediate supervisor I had to oblige.
DeleteI also just got a new job within the courts which means a little more money and probably much more responsibility. Oh well, that is the way of public service.
Thanks for stopping by,
~Keith
I thought you were smiling because Spring has already arrived. At least for you....
ReplyDeleteRichard,
DeleteIf I was I wouldn't let on. You might think I was gloating. It certainly has been an incredible mild January and February. I suspect that means more bugs and a bumper year for allergies. Amazing how we humans can find the cloud in nearly any silver lining isn't it? Thanks for stopping by.

YAY! Thank you so much for playing along. It is great to see a picture of you.
ReplyDeleteWe don't care if your supervisor took it.
Working in the judicial system is interesting isn't it? You work for the courts and I work for an attorney. Most of what we do is criminal defense and no two days are the same.
Nice of you not to gloat over your weather, but I think those of us on the west coast are still jealous.
You look very happy in your work....you kind of have a "get it over with" look!
ReplyDeleteRoger,
DeleteGood eye! I kind of was ready for it to be over. I'm not real big on having my photo taken. No reason that I can think of, just not.
Thanks for stopping by,
~k
Nice picture Keith. Are you still patiently waiting? I'm not, I am done with all of this winter stuff.
ReplyDeleteDar,
DeleteActually, I'm still waiting for winter. We didn't have one this year...yet. It's going to be terrible for those who suffer from allergies and the bugs should be massive.
Oh well, there's always something to complain about.

Keith:
ReplyDeletenot everyone can have a sherpa shutter release. It's great to be able to see where everyone works, after all, you spend a great part of your life there, so it should be comfortable

Bob,
DeleteI couldn't agree more about workspace being comfortable. I'm still moving into this one. I still have stuff at my old desk. I've only been officially at this desk since Monday, although I've been sitting at it four days a week for months. Oh well.

I love it! I don't recall seeing you before at least so we can see you, and not a bunch of gear. Agree with Sonja, you have a great smile! Love the helmet tucked in by the monitor. :)
ReplyDeleteKari,
DeleteThanks for the comment and the compliment on my smile. Well, the helmet has to go somewhere :)
Yeah, I don't show my face often in the blog. Some of that is on purpose, but mostly it's because I'm the one taking the photos. I've not befriended the timer yet...maybe this summer.

You should have worn the helmet for the picture!

Dom,
DeleteYou're not the first person to suggest I looked better while wearing a full face helmet, preferably with a tinted shield. I know some of the best smiles I've ever had have been while I was wearing such a helmet, so perhaps there is more than just humor involved in the comment.
Thanks for commenting.

You look so official with your ID (very necessary I am sure!). And yet you have a nice wood desk and a stuffed dog and framed picture. Interesting mix. And a very happy smile. I love that when you look at someone you never know what they do, what they love, what they think, what they are interested it (although many people try by wrapping themselves and their autos in logos). Life is much more rewarding when you have to slow down and stop to find something out about people.
ReplyDeleteMartha,
DeleteThe story of the stuffed dog is here:

It seems to me people need to be savored not devoured and definitely prejudged.

Remarks about the smile abound. :). Very nice even if it was to appease your supervisor.
