Rain

It is raining.

And, not just a quick five minutes and gone. So far a little over an half of inch of rain has fallen, and it is still raining.

I was out and about out in the country yesterday. The corn is past help, but the soybeans will certainly perk up a bit with a nice drink.

  1. Rain can be such a relief for man and nature after a long hot period. I like rain, I just don't like if it lasts for weeks...

Hey, I just discovered your new profile picture. I like it. Looks cool!

    1. My home state of Michigan is overcast a lot, but not so rainy. I wasn't bothered by the cloudiness, but I'm not sure how I'd do with so much rain.

I'm so embarrassed, but I have to ask. Which picture are you talking about? Here or on another site?

      Thanks for dropping by,

  2. We need rain here too. While personally I'm fine with hot and dry, the farmers aren't. Seems like the west coast and England are getting it all.

    1. The weather here has been a little bit hot, but otherwise great for riding. It has not been so good for the farmers. Having grown up on a farm, seeing the crops in such bad shape breaks my heart....plus, I know the ramifications for the farmers.

  3. Better late than never. As long as it is nourishing and not flooding. :)
Good time to ride Billie through some puddles for an impromptu wash?

    1. Lori,
All the puddles were gone by morning. It really wasn't very much rain. We need more, but you are right, we don't need a flood. The weather has been so extreme of late, one almost doesn't know what to ask for.

    2. The puddles were gone? Bummer. I enjoy riding through them. Heck...walking through them is also good for me. ;)

I can agree on your with the weather. So strange and unpredictable. Keeps us guessing! Hehe

  4. Yippee! We got some too! And our temps fell to the low 80s.

Such a relief! Feels SO good!

Let's hope the crops can come back and flourish...

    Enjoy your rain!

    1. Deb,
It was a little cooler today. It did make it into the 90F's. Sadly, there is no more rain on the horizon. Some is better than none, but I afraid this wasn't that much better than none. Still, it does raise the spirits.

Glad you got some rain. I know you've been very dry there as well.

      Thanks for the well wishes,

  5. We are finally getting some hot dry weather after a wet cold spring & late start to summer. It was 30C here today and beautiful!

You asked what type of gear I wear, it is TourMaster Transition 2 jacket & their Flex pants which rock! I also have a summer TourMaster mesh jacket. The pants are 4 season & zip down to mesh & have a zip in quilted liners for winter. I have ridden through everything in the jacket & pants. The transition jacket is a little heavy for summer, but when it comes to cooler temps & rain I have always been dry & warm, no leaks. I would buy this gear again in a heart beat.

Glad you are getting some good weather.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity and sharing what gear you have. I'm glad it is working for you. Good information.

  6. O happy day. There is always a physical sense of calm and well being when it rains after a long and difficult dry spell.

    1. Martha,
Folks at work were talking about just sitting and watching it rain last night. It was wonderful...and, it could've of stayed longer.

  7. Hooray - finally a little relief to the hot dry temperatures.

Don't you just love the smell of fresh rain?

I agree with BeemerGirl - playing in the puddles with Billie sounds like great fun.

    1. Yes, the smell after a rain is wonderful. That and freshly turned ground in the Spring are two of my favorites.

Alas, no puddles but I did have a small water hazard on the ride to work. That is a story for my other blog.

Always grateful to find a comment from you.
