Fourth of July Morning

  1. Never went here and actually don't remember hearing about it. According to the IL DNR the area has a lot of American Indian history. Well, most of IL does, I guess. I like that. This is the mound builder area!

    I like the lily pad lake photo that looks like the water is brimming.

      It is very close to the Cahokia Mounds Historical Area. I discovered Heather hasn't been there since she was a child. It is on our list. It is a marvelous site. One of my favorite memories is playing Lacrosse on a field set up where the old plaza was, a place where the inhabitants played a forerunner to the game of Lacrosse.

    1. It was a wonderful morning. The only downside was Heather forgot her gloves and we couldn't paddle as long as we'd planned. Happily she didn't get a blister just a couple of red and sore hands.
