It Snowed

The temperatures stayed above freezing all day, which I'm guessing made for great snowball fight weather not that I had any personal experience with such a thing.

Again, I was surprised at how many cars I saw out and about today without their headlights on.

It is supposed to keep snowing rather heavily into the wee hours of the morning. It will be interesting to see what the official totals are. I suspect somewhere between nine inches where I live, fourteen inches farther north, and even more where they experienced thunder-snow.

    1. It seems to have become a rather rare experience, but yes it does snow in Missouri. Officially, it snowed over a foot. Fun.

  2. Brrrr. The snow make sit look chilly even though it was above freezing.

I have often wondered why the USA doesn't mandate date time running lights on all vehicles. I think Canada has had that law since 1984 (ish). It drives me nuts when people are out there in their black and grey cars in the grey weather or rain/snow without their lights on. You've hit on a pet peeve.

    1. Here in Missouri if your windshield wipers are on your lights are supposed to be on. If they aren't you can get a ticket. I've never heard of anyone getting ticketed for it, but it is the law. You can see Martha's comment below for the standard Missourian response as to why they don't have their lights on..

  4. I heard about YOUR weather on MY local weather radio.

Here's the reason why so many people don't use headlights in situations like this (and explained to me by a MO native): I can see fine.

    And there you have it.

    1. Yes indeedy. I'd say that pretty much sums up the reason. I mentioned to the good Lady Trobairitz, it is the law for the lights to be on when the windshield wipers are on, but I don't think there is anything about fog, dusk, or snowy days. I guess in Missouri, seeing is being seen.

Good to hear from you, almost a neighbor :^)

I'm guessing I need to upgrade to Google + , I've been leery of it.

    2. I stepped away from Google+. My mess is contained for now. I don't like all that networking. It seems like more loss of control- even tho the idea of control on the web is an illusion.

    3. I also stepped into Google+, had the blog connected, then disconnected it since you lose some configuration options and control. I still don't see a reason for bothering with Google+.

  5. As I drove to work a few days ago, through a similar heavy wet snowfall (with my headlights on) - I thought, "How beautiful ... if it were December!" I guess we are all getting a little tired of it but I can't help thinking how in about four months I'll be complaining about the beastly heat!
