It Seems Determined...

It seems determined to be Spring here.
Remember these?
They used to look much like this..
Robins have been sighted.

It still seems early for Spring, but it is difficult to argue with a robin.

On my ride this morning I saw a gargoyle. I don't think sighting a gargoyle has anything to do with the coming of Spring.
He appears to be a year around resident, but it was the first time I'd seen him.

Still there are places that look pretty barren.

 All brown and gray.
But, even in those places if you look closely there are signs of Spring.
Especially, if you ignore the ice.
And, it's okay to ignore the ice as long as you don't overlook it or are surprised by it.

Only time will tell if Spring is really here, but it is pretty obvious it is trying to be.

I hope you're right. We didn't get much winter but the rain won't stop. It's very depressing . . .

    1. It's the robins and the daffodils that are saying it, not me. Like you, I hope they are right.

  2. Keith - I am following the Robin's lead, I am going to believe that spring is attempting to come. I am as Bob is tired of the rain & grey. I want sunshine, butterflies, flowers and warm winds. Oh an add puffy white clouds that aren't carrying rain!

    1. Puffy white clouds against a bright blue sky are a good thing. I hope you have this sooner rather than later.

  3. First off, love, love love the new header pic. Billie looks awesome with those trees.

Yay, spring is almost here. I wish we could use robins as an indicator but they are here year round. We joke in December, oh look a robin. Coming from snowy BC, it was hard to get used to.

Only another month until spring, let's hope the weather matches the calendar when it gets here.

    1. I, too, really liked the picture of Billie in the trees. I keep expecting a foul weather surprise, but it wasn't today and it looks like it will be even nicer here tomorrow. So, I guess I'll enjoy it one day at a time.

Gargoyle has a shadow - 'nuf said.
Thanks for sharing - made my evening (as I sit here listening to rain).

  6. I, too, love the forested scene of your trusty steed awaiting your command. I knew spring just had to be awake somewhere not too far away!

    1. Yes, Spring is awake and not all that far from you :)

I, too, really like the photo of Billie among the trees. There is something wild and wonderful about it.

      Thanks,

  7. We've got the daffodils and cherry trees blossoming here. Of course, a couple years ago we had a frost on tax day. So I'm not taking any bets that Spring is definitely here either.

    1. I, too, I'm not taking bets, but gosh it just keeps on being spring like. The forecasters are talking about 70F days this week. Hopefully, no tornadoes. So sad about all that.

      Good to hear from you.

  8. It's said that "It takes more than one swallow (or Robin) to make a summer." But in this case, just a picture of a bird makes me a true believer in the coming of Spring.

    1. So far it looks like the robins are right, and it is March. I'm almost ready to start hoping for a moderate summer :-)

  9. Dear Keith:

I like the pictures you got in this blog episode, and I am hoping that the robin and and the emergence of the daffodils mean the real riding season, with days hot enough to work up a sweat, are just around the corner.

This has been the lightest winter that I can ever remember. Of course, they tend to be mild for some reason at the southern-most tip of New Jersey, surrounded by water on three sides. It was in the mid-50's here earlier this week. It is expected to hit 70ยบ (F) next week.

    Fondest regards,
