Daffodils?

I saw these signs of Spring at the Botanical Gardens today.

 Daffodils....

...and robins, oh my.

It is difficult to believe this is the current weather forecast from the National Weather Service:
  • Tonight Occasional rain or freezing rain, becoming all freezing rain after 2am. Low around 27. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.2 of an inch possible.
  • Sunday A chance of freezing rain before 7am, then occasional flurries, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle between 7am and 1pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 28. Northwest wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Sunday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 17. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph.
Oh well.

  1. Poor flora and fauna. They are going to be so confused. Many of the cherry trees have blossomed here with our 65 F weather. I expect a freeze before too long though. Wonderful shot of the robin!!

    1. Glad you like the photo of the robin. I think they are confused and shouldn't even be here.

    1. Richard,
It doesn't seem right. I couldn't believe the daffodils and it is too early for so many robins to be here.

  3. It's about 40 here today and pouring rain. Should be about 15 or 20. Nature is clearly confused, as are we.

    1. Yep, it seems everything is confused. We've received some rain, but still we are too dry. We need snow.

  5. Yep, ol' Mother Nature sure is a tease, isn't she?

Been seeing robins aplenty and sunshine with temps in the 60s one day last week.

    I say, "Bring it on!"

My need to go on a long scooter ride is just oh so painful!

    1. It warmed up to 25F this afternoon and I couldn't pass up going for a ride. It was lovely...even if it was a bit chilly :)

  6. Lovely pictures Keith! Mother nature is definitely messing with us here on the Island, I am waiting for her to give us a snow smack down in February/March. It seems like our seasons have definitely shifted here. We have had mostly rain all winter, but over the last two weeks we have been waking u to very heavy frosts and threats of snow. I am hoping she is bluffing.

    1. It seems Mother Nature is suffering from severe mood swings. Maybe she's bluffing you and teasing us. Time will tell. Hope you're feeling better!

  7. Nature will not be amused once another cold snap kicks in. Like the picture of the robin in action ;-)

    1. It's going to be cold for the next couple of days. I suspect it will be very hard on the robins...and, maybe even the daffodils, although they are pretty hardy.
